What Vesper Is
Vesper is an AI-powered personal coaching companion currently in private beta. It helps you reflect on patterns in your thinking, track personal values, and develop self-awareness through conversation.
What Data We Collect
When you use Vesper, we collect and store the following information:
- Your messages and conversation history
- Facts, emotions, insights, and values extracted from your conversations by AI analysis
- Coaching profiles and exercise data
- Usage analytics (page views, feature usage, session timing)
- Push notification subscription data (if you opt in)
- Account information provided through Clerk (email, name)
Third-Party Services
Your data is processed by the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude) — processes your messages to generate coaching responses. Privacy Policy
- OpenAI — provides text embeddings for search and context retrieval. Privacy Policy
- Google — provides text embeddings for search and context retrieval. Privacy Policy
- Clerk — handles authentication and account management. Privacy Policy
- Convex — cloud database where your data is stored. Privacy Policy
- Vercel — hosts the application and serves web pages. Privacy Policy
How We Use Your Data
- Personalizing coaching conversations based on what you've shared
- Detecting patterns in your emotions, values, and thinking over time
- Testing different coaching approaches to improve the experience
- Monitoring costs and system performance
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Your Privacy Controls
Vesper gives you control over how your data is used. In Profile > Privacy, you can:
- Quality Review Opt-Out — Prevent the team from reviewing your conversations for AI quality assessment. Your data is used exclusively for debugging, prompt optimization, and assessing AI responses — never for model training.
- Analytics Opt-Out — Disable product analytics (PostHog) and error tracking (Sentry).
Your Data Rights
You can manage your data at any time from Profile > Data Management:
- Export all your data as JSON or Markdown
- Selectively delete conversations, facts, or insights
- Delete your entire account and all associated data
Data Storage
Your data is stored in Convex's cloud infrastructure. We apply reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security, as is the case with any cloud service.

Vesper is in private beta. Our data practices may evolve as the product develops. We will notify you of any significant changes to this policy.
